Setting it up
Heading, Subheading and an optional Button label and Button link sit above. Background word is the oversized text behind the quotes.
Add a Testimonial block per quote, each with a Quote, a Name and an Avatar.
Writing them
Use real quotes from real customers. Testimonials are the section visitors are most practiced at discounting, and invented ones read as invented.
The most convincing quotes are specific and slightly imperfect. "Arrived Tuesday, and the blade was sharper than the one it replaced" is worth more than "Great product, highly recommend" — the second could be about anything.
Attribute them properly. A first name and a location reads as a person; "J.S." reads as something you made up.
Avatars
A photograph if the customer gave you one. If not, leave it empty rather than using a stock portrait — a face that turns up in an image search does more harm than no face at all.
Where to get them
Product reviews are the natural source. Shopify Product Reviews, Judge.me and similar apps collect them, and most let you export. Order confirmation emails asking for a line of feedback work too.
Ask before publishing a name.
