Appearance
Home page
The home page has no fixed content of its own. Every part of it is a section you add, arrange and remove, which is why it is the template where a store looks least like the demo and most like itself.
Open it from the template dropdown in the theme editor.
What Greenix ships with
The demo home page is arranged as a sequence — attract, prove, browse, convert — rather than as a list of features:
| Section | Doing |
|---|---|
| Hero | The first impression |
| Best selling products | Immediate product |
| Trusted brands | Credibility |
| Featured collections | Routes into the catalog |
| Feature callout | Why buy here |
| Text marquee | Rhythm between heavier sections |
| Tabbed products | Browsing without leaving |
| Quality showcase | The considered pitch |
| Featured product | One product in depth |
| Countdown sale | Urgency, when you have a reason |
| Testimonials | Proof from customers |
| Shoppable image | Products in context |
| Blog showcase | Expertise |
| Newsletter banner | The ask |
Treat this as a starting point, not a requirement. Fourteen sections is a long page, and a store with a narrow range is usually better served by six of them done properly.
Building your own
- Remove what you do not need. Use the eye icon to hide a section first — it keeps your content in case you change your mind.
- Reorder by dragging in the sidebar.
- Add with Add section.
Decide what the first screen has to do
Everything above the fold competes for the same attention. A hero, an announcement bar and a popup all firing at once means none of them lands. Pick the one job the top of your home page has to do, and give the rest room lower down.
Keep it fast
The home page is usually a store's slowest page, because it carries more images and more sections than any other. Two things help more than anything else:
- Fewer sections. Every one adds images to load.
- Right-sized images. Upload at the size they will be displayed, not straight from the camera. A 4000-pixel photo in a 600-pixel slot costs the visitor the whole file.
If you want to go further, Appearance has a note on the scroll animation setting, which is the largest single lever available in theme settings.
This page is built entirely from sections you add yourself, so it has no fixed settings of its own.
