Import the demo content

The theme arrives with its layout already arranged — the sections on each template, their order and their settings. What it cannot bring is your catalog. Products, collections, images, menus and blog posts all live in your store, not in the theme.

So a freshly installed Greenix looks empty in places. That is normal, and this page covers how to fill it in.

Fill in your catalog first

Sections that show products stay empty until there is something to show, so start here:

  1. Add products under Products in the admin. Give each one at least one image — the theme uses the first image as the card image and falls back to it in several places.
  2. Create collections under Products → Collections. Several sections ask you to choose a collection, and they have nothing to display until one exists.
  3. Build your menus under Content → Menus, then select them in the Header and Footer sections.

Then work through the templates

Open the theme editor and use the template switcher at the top to move through each one:

TemplateWhat to set
Home pageReplace the placeholder text and images in each section
ProductChoose which blocks appear and in what order
CollectionFilters, sorting, and how many products per page
Blog and articleLayout of the listing and the post
Standard pagesThe About, Contact and FAQ templates

Sections you do not want can be hidden with the eye icon, or removed entirely. You can add them back later from Add section.

Placeholder content to replace

Search your storefront for these before you launch — they ship with the theme and are easy to miss:

  • The Announcement bar message.
  • The Newsletter popup heading, text and image.
  • The Countdown sale heading and end date.
  • The 404 page message.
  • Any section still showing a gray placeholder image.

A faster route for large catalogs

If you are moving from another platform or have hundreds of products, a bulk import tool will be quicker than adding products by hand. Shopify's own CSV import handles products and collections; apps such as Matrixify handle more complex data including metafields.

This is a store task rather than a theme task, so the theme places no requirements on how you get your products in.
