Cart page

The full-page cart at /cart. It is used when Cart type is set to Page under Theme settings → Cart.

Open it from the template dropdown in the theme editor.

Page or drawer

With cart type set to Drawer, the cart icon opens the cart drawer instead and customers rarely reach this page. It stays reachable at /cart either way, so it is worth leaving in a presentable state even if you use the drawer.

What it shows

Everything here is configured under Theme settings → Cart, not on this template — the same settings drive both the page and the drawer, so the two cannot drift apart.

That covers line items, vendor, discounts, the note field, the free shipping message, the tax and shipping line, and the checkout buttons.

Quantity changes

Changing a quantity refreshes the whole cart rather than just the line that changed. This matters when you run cart-level discounts — "buy three, save 10%" changes the totals on every line, and refreshing only one would leave the rest showing stale prices.

Sections around the cart

The template carries ordinary sections above and below the cart itself. An empty cart is a good place for one: a Best selling products section gives a customer with nothing in their basket somewhere to go.

Checkout

The checkout button and the accelerated checkout buttons lead to Shopify's checkout, which is not part of the theme. Its appearance is configured separately under Settings → Checkout in the admin.
